In 2023, Heather was honoured as an Order of Australia Medal recipient, a testament to her outstanding contributions to the community and the cultural landscape of Camden. Her journey in Australia began six decades ago when she migrated from New Zealand to marry and settle in the Camden area. As a mother to three children and two foster children and now many grandchildren, Heather's nurturing spirit extends far beyond her own family.


Her impact on Camden High School was immense as she served as its inaugural music teacher. For over two decades, she has shaped young minds and nurtured talent. Beyond the classroom, Heather's influence is felt as a dedicated piano teacher, inspiring and encouraging students through the years and she is a driving force behind AGAPE, a music school in the heart of Camden.
