A Digital Front Door for Camden Village launched locally

Spirit of Camden | 2026-05-21

On Wednesday, June 17, Spirit of Camden is hosting a launch party at Barenz. The guest of honor is camdenvillage.com.au —a new platform designed to put the historic township on the digital map.

This isn't another dry business directory. Funded by the NSW Government’s 24-Hour Economy program, the site is a storytelling engine for Argyle Street and its surrounding lanes.

Why Camden, Why Now?
Camden has deep roots. As one of Sydney’s oldest townships—dating back to the Macarthurs in the 1800s—the area has plenty of heritage. The new platform leans into this history, but with a modern, editorial edge.

The site focuses on three approaches:
Local Stories - First-person profiles of the business owners and creatives shaping the town.
Curated Mapping - A clean, searchable map to help visitors find where to eat, drink, and shop.
Event Hub - A central calendar to drive weekend visits and longer stays.

Grassroots
Spirit of Camden is a grassroots, not-for-profit group. The goal here isn't to build a massive enterprise, but to create a sustainable ecosystem for the town.

By sharing the stories of local businesses through a community lens, the platform aims to give day-trippers, weekend travelers, and potential new residents a clear reason to visit—and stay.
